The Liberation Charter
In it are manifest signs, (among them) the place where Abraham stood. Whoever enters it is secure. Pilgrimage to the House is a duty owed to Allah, for him who can find the means to go there. And whoever disbelieves, Allah does not need anything from His creatures.” (Quran verses 96-97:3)
We believe that it is the responsibility of all Muslims to keep the Holy blessed sites as liberated places and dynamic centers from where the renewal of the human condition and transformation of the world can be guided.
The Hajj Liberation Charter represents our vision and program to bring about global Justice, Equity, and Peace through the platform of Pilgrimage as a rallying influence over the entire of humanity.
The condition of humanity today is shaped by immense and unprecedented scientific and material progress that is accompanied by neglect and loss of spiritual, moral, and ethical values. The world is trapped in Illusions of grandeur whilst majority of people are plagued with high and chronic suffering. There is a large divide of income and opportunity between the “privileged few” and “desperate many”. There are dangerously increasing and deadly occurrences of conflict, war, hunger, poverty, oppression, gender-based violence, climate change, nuclear proliferation and mass displacement and migration.
It is the responsibility of Muslims from all corners of the globe and from various traditions to be united in promoting the message of Hajj which is about sacrifice, humility, human equality and solidarity and submission to Almighty Allah SWT, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful, Master of the Universes, Creator and Sustainer of all Life.
It is a Call for the Muslim Ummah to uplift themselves from the tyranny of self-imposed divisions.
It is a Call for the Muslim Ummah to free itself from tyranny of oppression and exploitation promoted through global political and economic systems, continued forms of colonialism and imperialism and nationalist regimes, both Muslim and other, that are confining the mass of their populations to underdevelopment whilst elites are living ostentatiously with despicable levels of wealth concentration and hording.
Muslim regimes that continue to oppress their people and collude with enemies of the people have to be challenged to live up to the true values of Islam as a force for enlightenment and human progress in the context of the dynamics and potentials of the 21st century.
The most brutal form of occupation and inhumanity continues to be experienced in Palestine. The duty of Hajj cannot be fulfilled without any devotion and sacrifice for the full liberation of Al-Aqsa. This liberation is not for Muslims but to free the entire humanity from the controlling forces of evil and the empire network that rules the world today with tyranny, deception, and exploitation.
We challenge the uneducated who promote hatred and terror either as Islamic “arrogance or extremism” or as Islamophobia. We challenge all forms of hatred and terror as an awakened and united global Muslim force working in solidarity with all justice and peace inspired people in the pursuit of coexistence, social cohesion and human solidarity and progress. Our message to world leaders is to promote friendship and trade between nations on the basis of justice and as a form of mutual respect and cooperation.
We as ordinary Muslim people living in different societies across the world reaffirm our belief that the solution to all global challenges lies only in the submission to Allah (SWT), the almighty creator and master of all the universes.
We invite ourselves and all of humanity to return to the sacred path, to truly follow the message of Allah (SWT) as contained in all the holy scriptures culminating in and perfected in the Quran and to follow the example of all the prophets (messengers) through the ages right from Adam to Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus (ISA) and finally Muhammad (SAW).
We pledge to work together as a global collective of ordinary Muslims from around the world to keep the Holy sites accessible and liberated.
We commit to finding the means and pledge to make the journey to Hajj and Al-Aqsa as a duty and a mission for renewal and global liberation.
